Kristy Martin, MA has studied and worked in the entertainment, media, and show business industries since 1987. Before opening Calliope SA in 1993, Kristy worked in television/film production and coordination, theatre management, promotions, media writing, theme park management, and agenting. She started writing at the age of 7, and began performing in theatre productions by age 13. She continued acting throughout high school before going behind the scenes in college. Kristy holds four degrees, including a Master of Arts, a Bachelor of Communication Arts, an Associate in Applied Science, and an Associate of Arts (all in TV/Film studies). She was a member of the Dean's List, the National Dean's List, and the Honor's List. Her Master's thesis detailed the development of a model university's communications department, programs, and curriculum - a reflection of Kristy's passion toward academics and education. Amanda Rivas
Amanda Rivas knew she wanted to be an actress as a child. She received her true calling for the craft during her senior year in high school, when she joined theatre/drama after not making the cheerleading squad. She performed in two productions, and received All Star Cast/Honorable Mention in her school's UIL competition. Amanda has participated in two of Calliope’s LA 101 Showcases and feels each one brought life-changing experiences to her career and life. Over the years, Amanda has racked up credits for commercials, industrials, print campaigns, music videos, reality TV, and film. She has trained extensively with notable casting directors, agents, and acting coaches from Texas and LA. As a staffer with Calliope, Amanda has gained knowledge and an education that she has implemented in her career and life. She particularly enjoys passing her experience along to other actors who share her same passion. Amanda continues to trust in God, stay focused, be accountable, and rely on family and friends for support. She is proud of her groundedness and stability. As a performer who was bitten hard by the acting bug, she is constantly striving to be in class, on a set, or auditioning. Amanda is a "lifer" and plans to keep learning and growing in her career. Diana Wheeler
Diana Wheeler, Calliope's Training, Development, and Promotions Administrator, and one of Calliope's Talent Representatives, has worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. Before Calliope, Diana worked in communications, public relations, education, promotions, and marketing for actors and musicians. She has worked with a multitude of music producers and choreographers for live performances and video productions. Diana also worked in theater, where she starred in a few productions, too! Diana has worked with hair and makeup for both television and film. She is an award-winning hairstylist and makeup artist, and has styled for photo shoots and clients as diverse as Maxim, Swisher Sweets, The Miss San Antonio Pageant, The Miss Texas Pageants, S.A. Living, The Tejano Music Awards, and The Texas Film Commission. Diana has worked for several major cosmetic lines and toured the country with numerous styling conventions. She has judged numerous pageants, and has scouted extensively for actors, models, and musical artists. Diana loves people, and has a passion for life. She enjoys finding, developing, and mentoring new talent, and helping them to fulfill their dreams in the entertainment industry. "Now go break a leg." |
